Anthony J. Vetrano
Anthony J. (Tony) Vetrano has handled appeals in a variety of cases, including contracts, employee benefits, estates law, fraud, and real estate.
Because an effective appeal depends, almost entirely, on the quality of the brief, Mr. Vetrano is dedicated to preparing a brief that is well-written, persuasive, and addresses the issue(s) most likely to make a difference. Click here for additional civil appeals information.
In addition to his appellate work, Mr. Vetrano’s practice encompasses employee benefits, an area largely governed by the (Federal) Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA). He has lectured in this area in programs sponsored by the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Institute, inns of court, and other state and county bar associations.
His clients in this area are typically lawyers for whom he prepares orders that divide retirement benefits. He also reviews such orders for pension plan administrators to ensure they comply with the law and the plans, and he determines the present value of benefits in pension plans.
Mr. Vetrano is former chair of the Montgomery Bar Association appellate court practice committee and former chair of the employment and labor law committee.
His articles on employee benefits have appeared in Corporate Counselor and the Pennsylvania Law Weekly.
Mr. Vetrano received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and his J.D. degree from Temple University School of Law. In law school he was a member of the Moot Court Society, was cited as best advocate in an American Bar Association-sponsored moot court competition, and was president of his class.
